Our recent Matrix re-accreditation (published in October 2024) brought to light some inspiring feedback from learners, highlighting the impact learning with us has on their lives and future prospects.
For many learners, the culture and atmosphere exceeded their expectations.

The lecturers play a crucial role in this, with learners praising their ability to foster independence and personal growth.
"The lecturers are amazing, they let us do the tasks in our own way," said one, while another added, "They’ve made me a better person."
Our focus on personalised learning helps learners gain practical skills and confidence. "You learn more here because you’re doing it and you can learn from your mistakes," one learner reflected.
We encourage a hands-on approach, empowering learners to take responsibility for their own progress: “I like doing the practical work. You have your own tools, and it’s our responsibility to look after things.”
The learning environment fosters respect and trust, with smaller class sizes and more one-on-one support than learners had experienced elsewhere. One learner appreciated this dynamic, saying, “You feel more like a colleague here, not just a learner,” while another emphasised the importance of the welcoming environment: “They make you feel welcome.”

Whether it's through the tailored support provided by the pastoral care team or the engaging, down-to-earth lecturers, we place learners’ well-being at the heart of their journey. "I’ve never felt any pressure here. When I ask for help, it’s always been there," one learner said, while another praised the support, noting, “They treat you like an adult here.”
Our commitment to providing individualised support is particularly impactful for those with specific needs. "There are smaller groups here, and we get one-on-one time with lecturers. That’s really important for me because I’ve got autism, and it really helps me focus," shared one learner.
As a result, learners are not only acquiring new skills but experiencing significant personal growth.
"My confidence has improved," one learner noted, while another commented, "I’ve matured no end, and I’ve made good friends."
Perhaps most powerfully, a learner reflected on how their experience has shaped their future: “The course has helped me mature loads. When I came here, I was really immature, and now I’m work-ready.”
